Here she is -- our
(hopefully) very own Sugar House! We're set to close on the 5th of September, 2012, so nothing's set in stone yet, but it seems like a done deal. I can hardly wait to go back and get some photos myself -- I didn't nab any when we looked at it because there was a tenant living there. 1500 square feet and change, built in 1924, 0.1 acre lot, and near ideal location. Two bedrooms, one bath, and a fully finished basement which could qualify as a third bedroom. Have a look at the realty photos:
|
Front lawn, note the iron gate in the driveway. |
Front door is on the left side of the front patio, out of view.
|
Living room, with the front door on the left. |
Stepping inside and to the right; above, the large window is in the front of the house, the two small ones face north.
|
Dining area |
Here, around the corner from the living area and facing south. Check out those sexy floors!
|
Kitchen and door to the yard,
facing eastward. |
The kitchen is in lovely shape, although I'm not sold on the floors or the cabinets, at least it's all new and well-kept. A galley-style, but reasonably sized with plenty of extra counter space where there once was, I assume, a breakfast nook.
|
"Master" bedroom,
if you can call it that.... |
Yep, that's a small bedroom. No doubt about that. But it's beautiful! Good light, but I wish for hardwoods.
|
Second bedroom |
Blatantly styled as a nursery for a little girl. And, while I think they did a lovely job, I'm 22. No nursery plans yet -- this is going to be our office/gaming room.
|
500 sq ft finished basement |
Complete with hideous wood paneling that the Boyf adores. Boys, am I right? Whatever -- I'm painting it.
|
The Only Bathroom :( |
Hopefully there's room for a second loo in the basement, because that would be a great second year project. Still, this space is workable, and we saw way worse during our hunt.
|
The back yard (aka Trixie & Henry's Funland), with garage on the right. |
The garage has an attached storage space/potential studio apartment/art studio room, and it's a really great space. Hopefully, it won't just turn into storage. The yard has a little tiled patio, a workable amount of grass, and a fenced off gardening corner (that's the bit directly ahead next to the garage, with all the dead grass and giant weeds) where I thought we might put the hot tub. We'll see!
